The 16 Nei Gung Components

Within Chi Gung, Nei Gung, Tai Chi and Ba Gua there are 16 major components. Each of these has different levels and many sub components, which combine to make the whole. The aim is to fully integrate each component into your body. In this way you can practice more and more components simultaneously rather than sequentially. If you can achieve this your health, power and vitality will improve dramatically.

Within the system there are longer and shorter routes to this end. The longest routes are concerned with learning the 16 components through Tai Chi and/or Ba Gua with no Nei Gung exercises. This means that each component has to be taught through every movement in Tai Chi or Ba Gua.

The shorter routes are about learning the Nei Gung exercises to practice the 16 components and then putting this into the Tai Chi and/or Ba Gua. Here you would learn the Nei Gung exercises side by side with the Tai Chi and Ba Gua. The slight differences are explained within each of the moves of the respective internal arts.

The middle route, in terms of time, involves first embodying the 16 components in the Nei Gung and then some years later learning the Tai Chi/Ba Gua.
