Taoist Meditation

Chi gung, Nei Gung, Tai Chi Chuan and Ba Gua Chang are all preparation for Taoist meditation. Opening the body, clearing and moving chi, so that when you come to meditate you have already acquired the ability to control the internal workings of the body and energy. This prevents the formation of blockages and stagnation from occurring. In the movement practices we begin with the physical and energetic bodies. In taoist meditation we start with the emotional body.

There is an understanding in Taoism that it is possible to travel as deeply into your body as it is to travel outward into space. Taoist meditation is concerned with the 'inner dissolving' process and internal alchemy, transforming negative emotions and energy back into their original state.

The aim is to free the individual from birth, social, psychic, and astrological conditioning, allowing universal consciousness to appear and ultimately merge with the oneness of the Tao.
